DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?

At this time I do not accommodate in-network insurance clients. However, if you have out-of-network benefits and would like to submit a record of our sessions to your carrier for reimbursement purposes, please request a “super-bill”l during initial intake so that I can know this is how you would like to handle billing/reimbursement processes.

WHAT DOES A THERAPY SESSION WITH YOU COST?

All sessions (i.e. individual, teen, EMDR trauma therapy, etc) are $125 per 50 minute session. If I cannot accommodate you for any reason, I’m happy to provide you a referral or recommendation for someone I feel might be a great alternate option.

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

I currently accept cash, PayPal, check and Venmo as acceptable forms of payment.

DO YOU HAVE SLIDING SCALE APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE?

Sliding scale spots are available on a very limited basis. Please contact me for more information on sliding scale rates and availability.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

More than 24 hours in advance, you may reschedule or cancel a consult/session at no charge. If you cancel your free 30-min consult within 24 hours--or fail to show up at the appointment--you are encouraged to reschedule but will be billed $50 upon your attendance. If you do not show up at your regularly scheduled appointment or cancel an hour or two before, you are liable for the full session fee. I understand at times things are unavoidable and for this reason, I offer a $30 rescheduling fee. So, if you cancel and reschedule your appointment within 22 hours, upon your attendance at the rescheduled session, you will owe both your usual session fee plus an additional $30 to cover the last minute change from last time. However, if you cancel the rescheduled session within 24 hours of the agreed upon time slot, you are liable for the cost of two full sessions.

CAN YOU DO PHONE OR SKYPE/TELEHEALTH SESSIONS?

Although I do prefer to see clients face-to-face as I believe that psychotherapy is more effective in person, in case of an emergency or a previously agreed upon arrangement, I am able to provide phone and/or Skype/telehealth sessions. However, please be aware that insurance providers do not reimburse for telehealth sessions.

ARE YOU AVAILABLE AFTER HOURS?

I’m available 24 hours daily via email. You may also text me (non-urgent) messages or questions on my work phone, listed at the bottom of this page. Should you contact me after 8:00pm your call/message/email will be replied to the following business day.

DO YOU WORK WITH KIDS, ADOLESCENTS, COUPLES AND/OR FAMILIES?

At this time I am only seeing adult individuals and adolescents ages 13-17-years-old.

CAN I BRING MY DOG?

I will be the first to advocate and uphold the research that supports the emotional support and healing that a dog can offer. As long as your furry best friend is potty trained and can behave appropriately and most importantly quietly to ensure we respect our office neighbors, I am thrilled to have them participate. If you plan to bring your dog please to our scheduled session please notify me prior to beginning our session.

HOW ARE YOU DIFFERENT FROM OTHER THERAPISTS?

As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community and also as a woman of color with a diverse background and upbringing, I have a vast understanding of a variety of degrees of oppression. I have experienced what it is like to feel different, to feel confused, to feel overlooked, misunderstood and marginalized as a result of my identity. . In addition, my own personal life struggles and experienced, combined with my educational background and extensive professional experience, they have all given me the wisdom that creates a therapeutic space that is safe, filled with compassion and most of all understanding of your own experiences separate from my own.
